Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails. I appreciate them. Things are
going well and I'm learning a lot. God is great and I love it here in
the Philippines. The work is moving forwards and will move forwards
faster this week. :) Brother Mario is great and we're still praying for
him and his family. The branch had an activity this past Saturday, but
he hurt his foot so then he didn't come to church yesterday :S but he's
still progressing and is excited for his baptism. We're making headway
with the less-actives, slowly but surely. The weather is great. We're
still working on developing stronger relationships with the branch so
that's a work-in-progress but God is helping us and it's been great. :D
We're still house hunting... I think everyone from the President, to the
couple missionary are getting anxious.... join the club... but on the
bright side, we get to enjoy the hospitality and kindness of a senior
couple. :) But no worries, things happen in God's time.. I just find the
situation a bit humorous on the ironic side so that's why I've shared
it. :) I'm pretty excited. On Wednesday, I get to go to the temple :)
and then on Saturday is the broadcast for the Relief Society meeting
here... I'm pretty excited... I have to admit... it will be the first
one I've ever seen... and it will be here in the Philippines... great
first time :). (before I would just read some of the talks but not
now)... well thanks again! Oh yeah... it's pretty neat. President and
Sister Stucki are giving extra time to us American missionaries to
vote... Grabe, I thought I wasn't going to but now I get to. :) I hear
it's pretty intense! It's amazing what a blessing it is to vote... some
people don't have that chance... so I'm thankful that I'm exercising my
right to vote (even the First Presidency has encouraged us). Hope all is
well! Enjoy voting!

Bulihan- week 7....... work is moving forwards! :D
Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails! I always appreciate them! God is great and it's been a great week..... what a coincidence, :) I'm learning so much every day and I appreciate these lessons I'm learning. God is also teaching me a lot in this companionship.... and seeing the lessons He wants me to learn and apply. I'm determined and excited to do this. Brother Mario came to church yesterday and his youngest child, a 21 year old, came with him! It's amazing because they're also excited for this branch's activity this coming Saturday and really want to come. He's on fire! He's reading the Book of Mormon every day (for long periods of time, too) and is eagerly sharing the gospel with his friends and neighbors! He's also funny. During the lessons, he also wants to jump in and teach his family too, but he's not baptized yet and we're still teaching him... it's been funny and miraculous. He also tells his family to read the Book of Mormon every day... and it's amazing seeing what the spirit does to a person. We've also had a Less-Active and his wife, Brother Eddie and Priscella come to church for the second Sunday in a row! The weather has been great... although, it could rain a bit more... but it's still been great. :) I love it here and I'm learning so much every day. Yeah.... we're still trying to find an apartment... but oh well, whatever happens- it's in His hands. We're just still being spoiled :). In fact, I had Macaroni and Cheese yesterday for the first time in my whole entire mission because they made it for us.... I'm excited... tomorrow we're going to be washing clothes for a less-active family that the branch is focusing on and it's amazing how they're slowly progressing back to the church. We also have another less-active family who has a lot of potential but it depends on their faith. The Aguilar's are amazing but they need to strengthen their faith because they also have a housing situation they need to take care of :) we're always praying for them... I feel it's close for them. We're excited and this week will be better than all of the other weeks! God is great! This mission is the best! Thanks for everything again!

Bulihan- week 6........back to the drawing board.......:)
Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails, I really appreciate them. It's been a great
week full of many lessons for me. God is helping us out a lot. Our
investigators are progressing and we're excited for the future. One of
our investigators is progressing really well. He is Brother Mario and
he came to church yesterday... and so we're praying for him and his
family a lot. We're also finding and establishing relationships with
the less-active here and I love them to death. They're amazing. With
God's help, things are progressing. It's just a step-by-step process
and I'm so grateful for these lessons I'm learning. Sorry this is
short and really rather uninformative... but next week will hopefully
be longer. :) haha. Oh yeah, we're back to finding a new apartment
(back to the 'ol drawing board, eh). It was kind of funny how it
happened, kind of. We cleaned the walls of the apartment because we've
been able to move in because of a few things but we figured we'd help
out and clean the walls so they could be painted.... and so after we
cleaned them... within a few days, the lady breaks the contract and
sells it to other people and have them move in without us knowing
until it was finished :S.... on the bright side, we were able to do an
unintentional service project. :) and so we're back to searching. I
love this missionary couple. They're so nice and they spoil us rotten!
I love this area and I love everything about this place. My companion
is amazing and I'm learning a lot. I'm grateful and humble that we get
the opportunity to be companions. Thanks again!

Bulihan- week 5........ next week will be a creative title.. for now it's just this.... so enjoy :D
Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails! I always appreciate
them! Things are going great and I love it here. God is helping us every
day and it's amazing seeing His hand in this every day. It was a pretty
interesting experience yesterday.... We had an investigator, Sister
Rhea at church yesterday and that was pretty neat. She really enjoyed
Sacrament and Gospel Principles and everyone had been so nice to her and
she really liked it. Then it was time for Relief Society... and to put
it short... she was put on the spotlight and she became kinda
defensive... I don't think she was scared away, but we're still
praying.. :) This branch is great. It's been a while since they've had
investigators from missionaries at church and so they're really eager
to befriend and I love it here. God is great. We were able to find many
new investigators and potential investigators and on Sunday, was another
miracle! We went over to some members' houses and we received many
referrals and finally we have members who are willing to work with us
during the week! It's amazing! They also led us to some less-active
homes that We were also fed a lot of food on Saturday and Sunday... it
was delicious but it was a lot but it was really funny seeing my
companion's reaction when she found out what she was eating and it was
great. :) I love it here. I love the food and I really think I must
have been a Filipina in a past life or something. It's been raining
some and I always love the rain. We have a lot of plans and appointments
for this week and we're so excited to do them! God is truly great and
this work is the best there is! I'm learning so much every day and I
appreciate all the lessons God is teaching me! Thanks again for the
emails!

Bulihan (technically GMA area, though)- week 4....... a longer email this week...kind of :)
Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails! As always, I appreciate them.
I'm not sure why you thought I was sick... but I'm good. All is well
and things are great. I love it here in the Philippines. God is teaching
me a lot of lessons and I really appreciate them. This area is slowly
becoming better and I'm excited. We've made contact with some of the
less-actives and have established relationships with them! I love them!
They amazing! There's this one couple, Warren and Jean and they've
started to read the Book of Mormon every day and they're more happy when
we visit! Progress! It's really humbling seeing the change that is
slowly coming upon them and it's powerful what the Spirit does to people
and what happens when people read the Book of Mormon every day. God has
also blessed us with many new investigators and it's really, really
good. I really love the weather, as you all already know, the rain is
fantastic. It makes me happy every time it rains. So I suppose...I'm
happy every day :) haha. I love it here. We've finally started to make
headway this week and it's great. My companion is really good. She's a
very prepared missionary and I'm learning a lot every day. She also is
really great at the piano and has an incredible voice. She's also quite
humble about everything but you should see her with the people! I love
it here! Thanks again for the emails...

Bulihan- week 2............spoiled....great investigators and apartments?
Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails! I appreciate them! Things are going great! I
love challenges and then there are always blessings at the same time..
so two in one! :D pretty astig! My companion is so spoiled right now
(me too, but she's still new). We don't have an apartment so we've been
living with this amazing senior couple who's kind of close by to our
area... so we get hot water and they let us use their washer and
dryer... and they give us food, etc.... the first time it has ever
happened to me here and so my companion has yet to experience the
complete thrill of being here. :) But it's a great tender mercy because
of what we're trying to do.... I love everything about the Philippines,
it's a great place! :D It's pretty neat that as we're trying to find
our way through our large area... we've been getting lost but then we
find these amazing investigators on the way... pretty neat tradeoff,
don't ya think? :) One of them is Sister Veronica... she is soooo golden
and it's amazing. She's agreed to a baptismal date and she has been
reading the Book of Mormon daily. In fact, when we gave her the
Restoration pamphlet, she read it and marked it up... she filled out the
answers to all of the questions in the back and read the whole pamphlet
again... pretty cool. She's also married, so that's really nice. She
said that she hasn't really talked with the different churches before so
this was a new experience for her but she's prayed about Joseph Smith
and knows he is a true prophet.... she's amazing. I love this lady and
her family. Her husband works in Mandaluyong... in my old area! Go
figure... right? But then again, this has always happened to me in all
of my areas... pretty interesting. We haven't met him yet, but we're
praying for her and her family and for our other investigators too.
Another neat thing is that... literally, we took time out every day to
go find a new apartment, which is a challenge because of the new area
and the different factors we have to consider.. and so we've looked at
so many apartments and there was always something wrong with them....
but then on Saturday, when we were meeting with Veronica, she found out
that we've been searching and said that there was a place near by her!
Earlier today we went over there, and then we called the senior couple
(they're the ones who decide if it's good or not) and they came... and
wow... there wasn't anything seriously wrong with it and so we have a
new apartment now! Great blessing from God. We were led to this
investigator who's really ready and she led us to that apartment... But
we probably won't move in until in a few weeks... so until then, we
still will be spoiled. :) My companion is great, she's an amazing
missionary (especially as she deals with my diyabloness) :) Apparently,
she has a blog too... but anyways. Everything is going great! I love it
here, as always. I'm learning so many lessons every day and I'm so very
appreciative of these lessons. God is great! Time is up! Thanks again!
