Mandaluyong- week 7.......email or no email?

Kumusta!

Thanks so much for the emails! I appreciate them! I thought that I would type a response to everyone so this email (or few sentences) is going to be extremely short. This past week has been great! I love it here in the Philippines and I'm learning so much! God is blessing this work and it's such an honor to be here serving Him and seeing His hand directing this mission and what we need to do!

Mandaluyong- week 6.... I love the weather :)

Kumusta!

Maraming Salamat po for all of the emails! I really appreciate them and love them. Transfers are this Wednesday and I bet you all would like to know what's going on, eh? :)  Well, God decided that my companion and I should stay together for another transfer... so we're staying together. I'm excited for what lies ahead of us. I'm learning a lot from Sister George. The weather has been really great. It's been raining for a few days in a row. I love the rain. The other day, we had exchanges and I worked with Sister Terano in my area. It was fun. We were walking in water that went to our knees. It was great. I was laughing and smiling because it was raining and the expression on my companions face was great. It was hilarious.
This has been a great week. I'm so grateful for the lessons I've learned. I've decided that I would answer some of the questions that have been asked instead of telling about other things.... so it won't seem like you type to a brick wall that never responds to what you want to know, :D haha. My mission president and his wife are the best. I love them so much. They really are divinely inspired and I'm so happy that I get to have a mission president like him. My living conditions.... Yes, I wash clothes by hand. No, I do not have a microwave but it's all good. The food I eat is delicious and I just don't need a microwave at the moment. I like the apartments. They're very nice. The Church really takes care of all of the missionaries and makes sure that they're liveable (?). It's great over here in the Philippines. Sorry for the short email, my computer is malfunctioning again :S  Thanks again!

Mandaluyong- week 5........I can't believe transfers are almost here... Grabe!

Kumusta!

Maraming salamat po for all of the emails. I really appreciate it! :)  Thanks for the package and the CDs! The shirt was a surprise and I loved the fruit snacks... although, I admit, they went down within two days, :S hehe This has been yet another incredible week! God is really helping me out! The majority of our investigators are progressing and the less-actives are progressing too. One of the less-actives, Brother Morosa (his family belongs to different religions and he's currently a born-again), is the perfect investigator! I mean less-active. :) He's relearning things and he really wants to know more. He's been reading the Book of Mormon to his wife and it's incredible to see the change that is taking place with him and his family. He and his wife are great! It's so neat to see that after all of these years he's ready to rehear the gospel! God is great!  Cherol, one of our investigators, is really good. She's been reading the Book of Mormon and she really wants to find out for herself if the church is true. She's 29 years old and her roommates are all LDS, so she was kind of a referral from them. God is really helping us out a lot and blessing us so much! As we strive to fulfill the charge that the area presidency has given us, God is placing miracles in our path and it's a humbling experience to see. Sorry this email is short this week but things will get better next week :) hehe. Next week are transfers and it's a strong feeling/suspicion that my companion is being transferred and I will be staying... (but who knows, it could change). So stay tuned for transfer week! :)

Mandaluyong- week 4.....to be confounded or not to be... that is the question... :)

Kumusta!

Salamat for the emails! I appreciate them!  This has been yet another great week... I've learned a lot of lessons and it's been great.
Our investigators are progressing. One of them is Sister Venilou. She's never been to church but now she's been reading the Book of Mormon. She loves reading the Book of Mormon. She's been trying to pray about Joseph Smith, but it's been hard for her to find the time because of her job and then her three little kids. But she says that she will keep on trying to pray. It was really good. Another of our investigators is Tatay Dominggo. He's been an investigator for about four years because he can't stop smoking. However, in our companionship, he's been given a blessing by the elders, he and his wife now have three temple pictures and a plan for him to stop smoking. We felt that we needed to start over from the beginning with all the lessons so that's what we are now doing. We taught him part Lesson 1 and we're going to continue with re-teaching him the lessons. God is really helping all of our investigators out as they start to put their faith in Him. It's amazing. We've been visiting with many recent converts and less-active members and it's great. We're finding new investigators. One of the Less-actives is the Morosa Family. Only the father is a member. His wife is Catholic and his children are baptists. He was baptized when he was around 18 or 19 years old and then left the church a few years later because he couldn't understand English very well (in those days, the church was completely in English). He then turned to the Church of Christ..(the religion started by a former BYU graduate) and then many other religions He's now around 45 years old. Since he's been to many different churches, he is really like an investigator. Right before we met him, he had been investigating the Dating Daan church (another church started by a different BYU graduate)... needless to say, he's interested in religion. He's currently a born-again Christian but he's getting more and more interested in relearning these things about our church... We feel that if he becomes active again, then his family will follow. It's a long process with him, but that's fine. He's had many years of different religion's doctrines in his head so it's understandable. The other day we had a lesson with him and it was a really great lesson. He loves to ask all sorts of these questions that are the "weird" ones. You know the ones like, "the bible says that Heavenly Father and Jesus are one person"... so the trinity thing. He has many, many questions like that. We taught about prophets and Christ's church and the spirit was there. We answered every single one of his questions and he understood the answers and I know it was because of God's help. Truly, since I've gotten to the Philippines, I've seen the promise by God being fulfilled... the one saying that we won't be confounded by men. It's a great testimony builder each time for me. The weather has been great. I love the rain, but the rumor is that it might end soon... sadly. Oh well, I like the sun too just not as much as the rain :D.  God has really been helping me out and I'm so grateful for the lessons I've been learning. Grabe! I saw the pictures and yes (I said it before when I first saw him but I'll say it again), he's like a mini-nikki completely! I couldn't really see his ears so I don't know if they were like Mitch... but he is truly like a mini-replica of Nikki- in baby boy form!  Have fun with him. :) Thanks again for all the emails and hope you all have a wonderful week.
