Bulihan- week 12.... Happy Halloween or All Souls Day! :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! As always, I really appreciate it. It's been a great week. Brother Mario was baptized and it was very spiritual. There were problems leading up to it but it happened! He's amazing and has a rock-solid testimony! He was late getting to Sacrament Meeting so we were thinking that he'd have to wait until next week to get confirmed but they did it during Priesthood... so yeah! It's offical! We are so excited for him. We're now trying to help his wife, son and other members to progress and we're praying really hard for them! God is helping us out a lot and it's humbling seeing His hand in this work, truly. Brother and Sister Basbas came to church for the second time! so they're slowly on the road to reactivity. Sister Priscella is doing great and we're working with her and her husband...so that they're more firm in the gospel. Lots of things, lots of miracles and lots of excitement! It's transfer week now and the announcement is..... we're both staying together... this should be interesting :).  There's lots of work to be done here and I'm excited to serve this area and people. I love it! Sorry this is short but next week will be a longer one... I think I'll have a little extra time :D.  Thanks for everything!

Bulihan- week 11......... tomorrow, tomorrow- I love ya tomorrow..actually Saturday :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails. I really appreciate them. God is great and the work is moving forwards! It's been a great week! The interview went well and Brother Mario is all set for his baptism this Saturday! We're praying and working hard for him and his family. His wife and son came to church for the second time and it's been incrediable. We also had three less-active families come to church yesterday! The spirit is amazing... that's why they came to church!  There's a pretty neat story that I would like to share... Saturday night, we went and picked up one of the less-actives- Sister Pricella and took her to a computer shop to watch a few talks from General Conference (because she couldn't go). As we're sitting there at the computer.. it was a bad connection... the video wasn't working and paused and everything... but we were praying hard for this to work and amazingly, it became a good connection and she was able to watch President Monson's opening address, a song by MOTAB and two talks and then it stopped... but it's pretty neat because when I was first watching conference a while ago, impressions came into my mind for her and her husband during two of the talks.... so we were planning on just giving her a Liahona and having her read it but we then decided to have her watch a session... and so we did. And the two talks that worked were the talks that impressions came to me about them... they were truly for her! She was taking notes and things were clicking in her head. For the longest time, she's been desperately wanting to feel the spirit and wondered why she can't feel the spirit even though she has been coming to church for 4 times now and reading the Book of Mormon at times.. and she got her answer. Afterwards, she opened up about all of her concerns and you can see the spirit truly touch her and it was very humbling to see.... we're still working on her and particulary her husband because he has a WoW problem... but we're excited! They have also given us a few names of friends and family to teach and we're working hard to help them. God is great and He is truly in control. There's lots of work to be done here and I'm excited because things are being done His way and we're striving to be and do better. Thanks again for the emails!

Bulihan- week 10.... great conference :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! I always appreciate them! Thanks for the package too! It was great! It was a great week full of many lessons! Brother Mario was excited to go to General Conference but then his son got into an accident about a day or two before so he was unable to attend :S.  On the bright side, some of the elders came to our area and gave him a blessing while sharing a bit about the priesthood. It was very powerful. We're excited for his baptismal interview this Saturday! :)  We're praying for him and his family, especially his wife! They're an amazing family and God is helping us a lot. Things are great and I love it here! Conference was amazing! I love it and I learned a lot! The work is moving forwards and we're working harder than ever! Sorry this is short, but my computer was being weird.... Thanks again!

Bulihan- week 9..... miracles after miracles :D..... but apparently another short email...

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! I really do appreciate them! I'm glad things are going well for you all..... I really appreciate how some of you didn't tell me much about conference because I like the surprise, :)  but for the others.... I'm happy for you and that you guys got quite the bit of inspiration from it! I'm looking forward to it! :) Things have been great, God is really helping us out a lot. Brother Mario is doing well and we keep praying for him! He's really excited for his baptism. He came to church yesterday and his wife came for the first time and also one son and a few others! It was a miracle. The first time since we've been here in Bulihan that we were able to get quite a few at church and that is truly only because of God! It's amazing. The temple was great, I love it. I loved the General Relief Society meeting! The work is moving forwards and I'm excited for this week, not to mention that I get to listen to conference on Saturday and Sunday :D.  It's been rather sunny lately....so hopefully the rain will come... haha  but it's all good. I love the sun too. Our work with the less-actives is moving forwards, slowly but surely. There's this couple, Brother Eddie and Precilla, who've come to church for four times, but Eddie has a major WoW problem and so we're praying and working to help them out. Life is good. I love it here and I'm so grateful for the lessons I'm learning every day... God really does have a way with teaching us lessons in the way that will enable us to internalize it deeper... so it's a lasting change. I love everything here! Sorry this is short, but next week will be longer.... maybe. Anyhow, it will improve! Thanks for the emails again! Salamat sa lahat!

Bulihan- week 8.... elections? VOTE, VOTE, VOTE daw :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails. I appreciate them. Things are going well and I'm learning a lot. God is great and I love it here in the Philippines. The work is moving forwards and will move forwards faster this week. :) Brother Mario is great and we're still praying for him and his family. The branch had an activity this past Saturday, but he hurt his foot so then he didn't come to church yesterday :S but he's still progressing and is excited for his baptism. We're making headway with the less-actives, slowly but surely. The weather is great. We're still working on developing stronger relationships with the branch so that's a work-in-progress but God is helping us and it's been great. :D We're still house hunting... I think everyone from the President, to the couple missionary are getting anxious.... join the club... but on the bright side, we get to enjoy the hospitality and kindness of a senior couple. :) But no worries, things happen in God's time.. I just find the situation a bit humorous on the ironic side so that's why I've shared it. :) I'm pretty excited. On Wednesday, I get to go to the temple :) and then on Saturday is the broadcast for the Relief Society meeting here... I'm pretty excited... I have to admit... it will be the first one I've ever seen... and it will be here in the Philippines... great first time :).  (before I would just read some of the talks but not now)... well thanks again! Oh yeah... it's pretty neat. President and Sister Stucki are giving extra time to us American missionaries to vote... Grabe, I thought I wasn't going to but now I get to. :) I hear it's pretty intense! It's amazing what a blessing it is to vote... some people don't have that chance... so I'm thankful that I'm exercising my right to vote (even the First Presidency has encouraged us). Hope all is well! Enjoy voting!
