Mandaluyong- week 20......It's close to June :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails. I appreciate it :).  As you noticed the heading, it's close to June. You want to know what this means? It means it's the beginning of the storm season, the raining all the time. So hopefully, it does rain every day! :)  I know, I know... I bet you all were thrilled in hearing that :)  Things are going as great as usual. God is teaching me a lot of lessons and I'm so grateful for these lessons. I really, honestly, truly love the Philippines. This is an amazing opportunity to be over here now. This past week, Elder Nielson came and spoke to my mission! Elder and Sister Ardern were also with them. They all three spoke and it was amazing. It's such a rare opportunity to have an apostle come and speak with a mission! I learned a lot! He gave a lot of advice and the spirit was so strong. The next day, it was my zone's turn to have temple day... so I was able to go to the temple again :).  ~I love to see the temple, I want to return soon~... anyways. My companion was sick for several days so we couldn't really work, but that's all good. God will bless us as we're trying to be better. There's a lot of work to be done in this area so I'm pretty excited to work this week. Thanks for the emails! Sorry this is short (but I bet you're not surprised at the length:) hopefully, next week will be a longer email. Salamat!

Mandaluyong- week 19........next week will be a creative title

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! I really appreciate them! God is great and this has been another great week. As you know, transfers were last week and I received my new companion, Sister Roofi. She's from Pakistan and it's interesting. I can see some of the lessons that God wants me to learn this transfer. I'm so appreciative of these lessons I'm learning. He is truly helping this work along and He is helping me out too (of course :).  This transfer... my Tagalog will drastically improve and that's a good thing :).  Anyways, our work is going good. We were able to visit some of these less-actives and it's amazing seeing how God is leading us to them. On Sunday, we were able to visit Jose Soleno (brother of Joseph and Robert Soleno) for the first time and it's now another part-member family we're teaching. Robert's family is slowly progressing. He's fully active in the church and his children want to be baptized but it's his wife that is rather difficult. I'm praying really hard for this family. There's so much potential here. I really do love this area. I've loved all my areas but this area is truly my favorite. We also had some members of another less-active family come to church on Sunday and it was great!. Miracles after Miracles and it's amazing to witness. Sorry this is short... Hopefully, next week will be longer :). Thanks again!

Mandaluyong- week 18.....transfer week

Kumusta!

Thanks for all of the emails! I appreciate them :). It was great talking with you yesterday so thank you for your time :) Things are going well and God is blessing this area a lot. On Sunday, Jeny's mom and sister came to church again... so they're almost completely reactivated and it's exciting. Also, on Sunday, I dropped my companion, Sister George, off at the mission home and now I'm part of a temporary three-some. On Wednesday, I'll be getting my new companion and I'll be really leading this area... pretty interesting. God has a plan for everything and so I'm so happy that I'll be doing everything I can so He can lead this area :).  My companion will be a junior and we came into the Philippines the same time. She was just in the Philippine MTC... and she's from Pakistan. So unless, there's a last-minute change, she'll be my new companion. So it's going to be interesting. I'm excited for the lessons that God has in store and I'm excited to see what will happen in this area. With God's help, it will be a success :D.  Thanks again for the emails! Sorry this is short again :S... Hopefully, next week will be longer... :)

Mandaluyong- week 17....Twas the one week before transfers and everything is coming about... :)

Kumusta!

Salamat for the emails! I appreciate them very much! :) This has been an interesting, good week. I'm learning a lot every day and I'm so grateful for the lessons I'm learning! God is helping and blessing us a lot! On Sunday, Jeny's mom and sister came with her to church for the second time in a row! That's exciting! They're on the way to being reactivated! We're still working with the other members of that less-active family but it's amazing. It's amazing seeing God's hand in this rescue effort with the less-actives. Also, one of our investigators, Marial, is pretty interesting. She's a maid at the house of one of the bishopric. She's ready but she doesn't really realize it. So she gave us the "ultimatum".... which is that she would read the Book of Mormon every day for the month of May and pray every day and come to church and then if she didn't know it was true, we wouldn't be able to visit with her again. But, if she did come to know that it was true, then she would embrace this gospel... so pretty interesting. We're praying for her! She needs all the prayers she can get... I also found out that June is the beginning of the "rain" season here in the Philippines, so it's pretty exciting... :)  However, it still rains here at this time but I'm guessing probably not as much as during the season.. in fact, it rained the other day and it was glorious! I love the rain. Next week are transfers and things will be changed up a bit... I'll explain next week :)  anyways, On Sunday, I'm dropping my companion off at the mission home and then on Wednesday, I'll get a new companion... so pretty exciting :) Thanks again for the emails!
