Mandaluyong- week 23..........transfers are next week

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! I really appreciate them. God is really blessing us and helping us a lot over here. Not to mention that it's incredible weather right now :).  hehe  I love the lessons I'm learning every day and it's amazing seeing what God does to have His work move forward. Things have been great and we were able to meet a lot of new people. We found this young couple, Jason and Gretchen and they're really ready! It's amazing. We also found a 15 year old who comes from a less-active family and he's all set for his baptism (that we haven't even extended yet) and to learn more. He was so excited when we gave him the Book of Mormon and he said that he feels lighter and much better. Many, many miracles but alas.. I don't have the time :).  Needless to say that every day there are many miracles and the work is moving forwards! I love this work and it's a great opportunity to be doing His work every day! :)  Thanks for the emails!

Mandaluyong- week 22..... a week of miracles :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! I appreciate them! This week has been interesting. It didn't start off very well (for lots of different reasons, but one of them was our area). We had investigators (some who had baptismal dates) drop us and bluntly stated they have no desire.... and then less-active families we've been working with were refusing to see us (they still are). It just seemed everything was going against us. We kept asking and trying to earn referrals but we didn't receive any from anyone. On Thursday, things were still not good, but it started to pick up that night a little bit. God blessed us and helped us out so much. Then things just escalated for the good. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday were were able to find new investigators. All of a sudden, people just randomly gave us referrals and we didn't ask them! It was truly a miracle. Also... we finally found people who want to hear the gospel through finding and it's an amazing blessing from God. There's this one family, the Gonzaga family, who reads the Book of Mormon every day and the mom has the children read too as well. It's amazing. It will take a bit of time but God is helping us and I'm so very grateful of the lessons I'm learning every day and the blessings that God is blessing us with. On Sunday, Brother Brion became a returned member! I love him and his family! Before, he didn't come to church because he worked on Sunday and they had problems with tithing... but then Sister George and I started to visit that family and we just continued. They're actively preparing for the temple and they're (the parents) are fully-active in the gospel and church! It's amazing. God is great! We decided as a zone to fast for our priesthood (amongst the recent converts) because it's really low because they're less-active so then we were also blessed to find one of our recent converts (he was baptized last year but became less-active instantly) that is always not there. We'd always go over there, but he would be gone and "always" at work so it's an amazing thing. It truly has been an amazing week! I love it here in the Philippines! There's lots of work to do in this area! It's an incredible work. The scripture in Mosiah 16:9 is a great verse. Of course, Christ is the light and no matter how dark or bleak a situation appears to be or however low a person thinks they've gone, He is always there... then as a person continually relies on Him, things will never be dark. I've seen that as I've been working with these less-actives.. there's this joy on their face that just makes me so very happy inside. It's miraculous. God is great! Thanks for the emails! Maraming Salamat!

Mandaluyong- week 21...... too bad I'm still not 21 years old or else this would be a cool email.... 21 and 21 :)

Kumusta!

Thanks for the emails! I appreciate them :).  The weather is fantastic! I love it. It's kind of been raining off and on and it's amazing! I love the rain and I love walking and working in it too! :)  Anyways.... hehe... the work continues over here. God is blessing us out a lot and I'm so grateful for that. I'm so grateful for the many lessons I'm learning every day and I really love the Philippines. Every day is a great learning experience for me and I'm happy and so grateful to learn these lessons. Thanks again for everything that everyone does :). We had zone conference this past week and it was amazing. President and Sister Stuki are truly inspired to lead over here and I love them! I learned a lot and it's exciting! Also, this past week, one of the less-active families that we've visited is the Brions... and I love that family. The wife and many of her children are active but the brother (dad) wasn't because he always worked on Sunday... anyways, Last transfer, we started to visit them and this transfer we're continuing :) During the visit this past week, I asked them how their temple preparation is coming along and they said it wasn't because of their tithing problem. We shared about tithing and it was a really good lesson, the spirit was there very strong and they both committed to live the law of tithing... and on Sunday, the brother came to church again and he's almost fully reactivated. Their goal is to go to the temple and I'm so happy for them. They're working for it! I'm praying for them! Also... it's a part-member family too.... so sometime in the future other members of that family will be receptive as the parents set the example :D  God is great and I love His work. This work is divinely inspired and it's amazing! Salamat para sa lahat! Next week, I'll tell more stories... :)
