Kumusta!
Thanks for the emails! I appreciate them! This week has
been interesting. It didn't start off very well (for lots of different reasons,
but one of them was our area). We had investigators (some who had baptismal
dates) drop us and bluntly stated they have no desire.... and then less-active
families we've been working with were refusing to see us (they still are). It
just seemed everything was going against us. We kept asking and trying to earn
referrals but we didn't receive any from anyone. On Thursday, things were still
not good, but it started to pick up that night a little bit. God blessed us and
helped us out so much. Then things just escalated for the good. On Friday,
Saturday and Sunday were were able to find new investigators. All of a sudden,
people just randomly gave us referrals and we didn't ask them! It was truly a
miracle. Also... we finally found people who want to hear the gospel through
finding and it's an amazing blessing from God. There's this one family, the
Gonzaga family, who reads the Book of Mormon every day and the mom has the
children read too as well. It's amazing. It will take a bit of time but God is
helping us and I'm so very grateful of the lessons I'm learning every day and
the blessings that God is blessing us with. On Sunday, Brother Brion became a
returned member! I love him and his family! Before, he didn't come to church
because he worked on Sunday and they had problems with tithing... but then
Sister George and I started to visit that family and we just continued. They're
actively preparing for the temple and they're (the parents) are fully-active in
the gospel and church! It's amazing. God is great! We decided as a zone to fast
for our priesthood (amongst the recent converts) because it's really low
because they're less-active so then we were also blessed to find one of our
recent converts (he was baptized last year but became less-active instantly)
that is always not there. We'd always go over there, but he would be gone and
"always" at work so it's an amazing thing. It truly has been an
amazing week! I love it here in the Philippines! There's lots of work to do in
this area! It's an incredible work. The scripture in Mosiah 16:9 is a great
verse. Of course, Christ is the light and no matter how dark or bleak a
situation appears to be or however low a person thinks they've gone, He is
always there... then as a person continually relies on Him, things will never
be dark. I've seen that as I've been working with these less-actives.. there's
this joy on their face that just makes me so very happy inside. It's
miraculous. God is great! Thanks for the emails! Maraming Salamat!
Mahal ko Kayo!
